hard to say without knowing what it is and where it came from... even vista ultimate is only about 2.5 GB... but there isn't any reason a DL dvdr shouldn't boot if it has the correct file system.

I wouldn't use anything else by Singapore manufactured Verbatim +R DL discs for this.

Assuming it is a bootable disc image that you are using, there is no reason why you can't boot from a DL disc.

  5. Mac OS X Leopard comes in at 6GB so I'm gonna assume your installing that and as long as the image is bootable all you gotta do is grab a DL DVD open your burner software n burn it....happy installing

I don't think we really should be providing help to someone who obviously is NOT using a free OS (I work in IT for a living and there are ZERO Linux and FreeBSD distributions that require more than a single layer DVD. Most can even be booted from CD-R.) and obviously did NOT pay for what he is using.

Good advice guns1inger, but where I live we can't get anything but India manufactured Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. If anybody knows of a source in the USA or Canada for MCC or Singapore manufactured Verbatim DVD+R DL discs, I'd love to know what it is.

Actually, being in IT myself also, there are situations when you would need to put windows on a DL disc. I'm in the process of wrapping up a Vista package that when Office 07 is added in the mix along with a few 3rd party apps my wim file is 4.6g I also have a SIS DVD that is 6.9g for XP.
