  1. I need to make a print out gray scale and don't know how to make one with MS Word or Excel. How can I make a calabrated gray scale on my pc?

    Print out of what? Excel and Word won't be much use. Your printer should be able to do gray scale with the printer settings.

    If it's a graphic file, then you might want to use a graphics editor. You can usually set how many gray levels you want. 256 is fairly common. The Gimp or Irfanview are a couple of freeware options.

    EDIT: OK, now I'm guessing you might be trying to create a gray card or similar for camcorder or video calibration?

    I think you would need to calibrate your printer first to make a calibrated card. If you can't find one at a local photo shop, go to a art store and look for some gray posterboard that comes close in shading. That would be better than nothing.
