For patent infringement. http://itc.epson.com/
On October 19, 2007 the U.S. International Trade Commission ("ITC") issued a Final Determination that confirmed that all of the more than 750 accused cartridges for Epson inkjet printers infringe one or more of eleven Epson patents. The ITC issued a General Exclusion Order prohibiting all importers from importing infringing cartridges and Cease and Desist Orders that prohibit the named respondents from selling cartridges imported before the ITC Order.

Yep,
I've already heard from one supplier - no more carts. They will still sell chip resetters, ink, syringes, etc..
I'm glad that I purchased those refillable carts last year. If I can only get these darn R200s to last awhile....
(Old R300 already hard-down; I think the sensor at the printhead is deceased);/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,

And we all thought oil was expensive. Printer ink is the new gold. They should sell printer carts at Tiffany's.

According to this article, the U.S. Trade Representative needs to sign off on "ITC matter 337-TA-565" before it would take effect (in the U.S.). The third paragraph from the bottom of the article gives the contact information for the trade representative in question. If anyone would like to let her know why she should not sign it into law, make sure it's before December 19 (the deadline for her to sign...or not sign).
