Hello hope i'm not posting in a wrong section. recently i have a problem with my DVD player LG DK141 (Indonesia). While i'm a watching a DVD, suddenly the player is acting strange, it move by it's own will, it open & close & play by itself (on and on), just like someone is messing around with the remote. Ive already unplug the player, hold the power within 5 seconds, but everytime i turn in on again, the problem is still there, so what happened to my player?? Please help me.

And the next questions, can somebody give me the firmware for my DVD player LGDK141, and a guide how to update the firmware.

Thanx in advance. please answer it soon...

Assuming it does have a remote, have you tried A) removing the batteries to ensure the remote isn't causing the probem and B) replacing the batteries in case they are dying and causing the problem.

If firmware is available and/or updates are supported for this player, it will be on the LG website. Some manufacturers provide firmware support and their webpage and others you need to contact their tech support first.

I think the problem not lies on the remote, cause i already put away the remote, but the player still acting crazy. Even when i'm turn it off and then on again, it go crazy by itself, open/close the tray, try to play by itself. What have causen this, i've no clue.

About the firmware, i read on the https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/lg-dk142/7979, u must request for the firmeare, i've already did, but still got no answer from LG, so i just need someone who has it to send it to me.

    Thanx

If you've already ruled out the remote, then it is likely having a hardware malfunction. About all that you can do is to remove power to get it to reset (as you've already done). Aside from that, there isn't anything else that you can do.

Firmware won't cause eratic behavior and with the way it is acting, you likely won't get it to flash the firmware anyway. And if it interupted during the flash process, it will get corrupted and not function at all.

I don't see it listed on their website. Some manufacturers offer firmware updates only via tech support/repair center.
