  1. I wanted to convert an ac3 file from 25000 to 23976 using BeSweetGUI. I set no other options. The resulting AC3 was more than twice the size of the original. I didn't bother to check whether it had actually adjusted the speed of the audio but I opened the file in GSpot and it said the bitrate was 384. The original was 192. Is 384 a default bitrate or something? Its listed in the command line of the conversion but I have no idea how to change that.

    Here is what BeSweet listed:

    "c:\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "d:\The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1 T02 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3" -output "d:\The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1 T02 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms-New.ac3" -logfilea "C:\program files\besweet\BeSweetv1.5b31BeSweetGUIv0.7b4\BeSwe et.log" ) -azid( -s stereo -c normal -g 0.95 -L -3db ) -ota( -r 25000 23976 ) -ac3enc( -b 384 )

Where is the option to set the bitrate? BeLight has a slider.

In the command line, your final option -ac3enc( -b 384 ) is the bitrate.

In the GUI, click on "AC3" in the array of buttons on the right side.
Then you can set "AC3 Encoding Options", including bitrate. Click on "BeSweet" to go back to the main screen.

I usually use BeSweet in "Wizard" mode. which steps you through the options, including bitrate. Click on "Startup Mode" button to set that and restart. To change back to GUI mode, uncheck the tick on the top right and on restart it will be back in GUI mode.

  3. Thanks. I converted it with BeLight but I'll try BeSweetGUI on another. I didn't even realize those were buttons.

  4. Does BeLight have sync issues with framerate conversions? The audio and my 29.97 to 25 to 23.976 video are the same length but it eventually drifts out of sync.

You can use AC3scale to adjust the duration of an AC3 track.
