I've just upgraded to leopard, and have installed ffmegegx just as i did in Tiger. In tiger, it would convert .mkv video to the h.264 640w ipod preset with no flaws. Now, ffmpegx just takes the matroska video in and in one second it dings and i get a video file that has no info in it. so i tried to convert the same matroska video to 640w (the apple tv preset) and i get a video that has normal sound, but the video shows (and holds) one frame every 3 or 4 seconds. Any reason? do I need to install perian or something of that nature?

  2. i'm having similar issues. it will randomly encode the video but not the audio, or the audio and not the video. I've converting high res AVI files (960x5??) most of them divx encoded but some are xvid. audio typically AAC, sometimes mp3. but there's no rhyme or reason that I can find to which goes which way in the conversion.

if ffmpegX 1.0 is not forthcoming can anyone give any info on other programs confirmed to be working in Leopard (for other reasons I can't just go back to tiger) that can do a conversion to ipod 640. thanks

    I have the same problem

PS By the way, are you sure that 640w is Apple TV preset? Apple TV allows to use 1280x720p 24 fps up to 5000 mbps video, when 640w preset gives us only 640x352 video

PPS try to manually set up frame rate to NTSC FILM and manually adjust video bitrate to some appropriate value (at the Video tab) - I just now in process of testing will it stuff works or not.

  4. Maybe it is a Leopard issue and not ffmpegX. Look at your log files in the progress window - the blue I. Also are any of you getting the application quit thingy wanting to know if it can send a report to Apple? I use ffmpeg 0.0.9x and never had problems under Tiger, but as soon as I installed
Leopard ffmpeg and MovieGate have gone south.
