Im trying to figure out why my video is so choppy on 1080p brodcast. I've noticed this same type of choppiness when I encoded vob's in the past. It seems to only appear on live HDTV brodcast. If I open the captured file with Windows Media Player Classic the choppy is gone. I also noticed this from other 1080i that I have gotten from other people some will play very clear and some have lines that go through them. It seems to get worse when there is motion. I should note that Im watching the video through a 1280x1024 monitor, I was thinking this could be do to resizing the video. If this is the case then WMPC must have some filter that makes the resizing smoth. If that is the case. is there any filters to add to windows media center vista or BeyondTV. that will clean this up for live brodcast.

this is my first HD tuner, I just got today. So I don't really know anything about all this. Any advice will be appreciated.

Can you check the CPU Usage under the Performance tab in the Task manager to see if it reaches 100%?

Media Center and beyondtv should automatically deinterlace....I guess. Google for interlace and media center and maybe you found some tips.
