I have an SVCD file which I've multiplexed in order for the SVCD to play in my non-SVCD DVD player. The first disc came out perfect. The second and third discs were off sync however. Is there a reason why one would work and others not? THe original mpgs were all in sync. Any suggestions is appreciated.

  2. This won't help you, but I had a similar problem. In my case the SVCD had a synch problem when played on the standalone DVD player, but the MPG from which I burnt the SVCD played perfectly on the 'puter. The SVCD also played fine in a different standalone DVD player, but not in mine. Subsequent disks I've made have been fine though. My enquires lead me to the "That's just one of those things" conclusion which didn't help me at all.

I hope you have more luck than I did and I'd love to know about it if you do!

Is there a way I can delay the audio for a sec in TMPGENC? It's not off by that much. THe second CD is even hard to tell but it does lose sync.

I played the VCD on an Apex DVD player and it worked perfectly in sync. So it has to be my DVD player throwing it off. Why would it do this and is there a way to fix it? Sorry for posting twice I should have posted here first.

  5. Just out of curiosity, what's the brand of DVD player you're having the problems with? Mine's a JNL and I never found a solution to the problem.

    It's a Sony NS400D

  7. OK, that rules out the brand as the problem. (Sony's a more solid brand than JNL too)

  8. the reason why you cannont hear any audio with the svcd's on a tv is because svcd audio is recorded at 48000Hz and most recievers will only work with 44100 digitally.....so if you have your dvd player audio hooked up through optical or digital coax then you will not hear anyhting on svcd's hook up through an analog connection (RCA) and the audio will be fine just like on the computer...........on a side note because this is true...how do u convert the audio to a lower digital capable frequency..any converters let me know.....
    hope this helps

  9. merlinose, the problem isn't "no audio" its audio out of synch with the video by half a second or so.

I believe that VirtualDub will let you mess about with audio rates, but this is just word of mouth - I've not actually tested it.
