Look in the manual and see if there is any directions for converting analog to digital, it may also be referenced as pass through. If it has that feature you only need to connect your VCR to it which will convert to DV-AVI. Capture over firewire as you would normally for DV tapes.

Hi "thecoalman" thanks for your quick answer.

So my Terratec Hybrid Cinergy XS wont do ?

    My Camorder Model JVC GR-DVL157E

Ehmmm .... you meant should I put a MiniDV Cassette on my Camroder ?

So the step, turn on my VCR , put the VHS Tape & Play it ?
Then connect my VCR with my CAMCORDER using S-Video or Composite ?
Later Turn on my PC & connect my PC with my CAMCORDER "connect with firewire" ?
Btw. can I do it by using Nero ?

    Thanks

I'm not familiar with that card but the DV cam will undoubtedly give you a better capture. I looked your model up and it says it supports pass through. You'll need to look it up in the manual on how to do it, directions vary by model. The chain is the same though:

VCR>> RCA Cables(S-Video if you have it) >> Cam >> Firewire Cable >> Firewire Port on computer .

I'm assuming you have transferred video you have taken with your cam already via firewire? If not you may want to start there instead.

You don't need a tape to do passthough. The cam is only used to convert the analog signal to digital.

    Thanks again for your reply

For that JVC Camroder, it has 2 models , one "with E" & the another "without E".

In which position should I do with my Camcorder as pass through ? REC or OFF or PLAY ? Better it connected with Electricity right ?
I will give a try, but need to find my Manual first, coz dunno where I put it now :-p

Do I also need to install some file in other to make it work, in order to encode from analog into digital ?
Like someone mentioned in this website http://vhs-to-dvd.janvesely.com/video-grabbing.php ?
