I have several different videos of different codec formats and I want to put some of them on VHS or SVHS through S-Composite. I have football recruiting videos I have edited and need them on VHS but I am having trouble looking for a video card that can output great quality. I only want to use S Video to transfer to analog. I been looking at the Pinnacle Studio 7 AV which outputs to VHS and I am thinking about buying it. I do not want to regret buying it and having VHS quality issues. Can someone post the best video cards to output to analog sources like VHS. My budget is under 150 USD. thank you.

I haven't used Studio 7, but I can tell you that Pinnacle's other card StudioDc10Plus had a very high quality output in my opinion, I used it to output to vhs and the quality was, In my opinion, as good as the original. I still have the card and software if you're interested, let me know.

I am recording from an analog source as well. The DC10Plus will not work for my needs. Thanks for offering. I am recording from actual coaching game tapes made by the Pinnacle Team Sports custom package that this specific college uses. The quality is okay probably due to what Cams the school uses. The lighting could be better with consistant color. No big deal to handle. I just want to know is there any TV out Video Cards or Converters that will give me excellent quality under 150USD. Also if the cards will allow me to play all videos that Windows Media Player will let me play.

personally i dont trust TV out video cards to do a good job. what i use is a scan converter. it is a pass through device that plugs into the VGA port on your computer and then you plug your monitor into the scan converter. the scan converter will also offer a choice of s-video out or composit video out to supply your VCR. generally as a rule of thumb scan converters will offer higher output resolutions and and an overall better image than a TV out on the video card. some cards are an exception to the rule and use scan converter technology on the card but these are few and far between.
the scan converter i use is slightly old and i am sure you can find better models for lower prices now so i will not mention what one i have. it is made by aitech but that is not the only scan converter manufacturer around. go to some popular retail sites like amazon or jandr and search for scan converter and check out whats available in your price range.
some of the advantages as i see it are...
better resolution
no drivers = works on any computer
external = portable
anything displayed on your monitor can be output to a TV or VCR, not all TV out cards offer that.
peace out,
dumwaldo
