I live in San Antonio,TX and want to open a business for professional DVD authoring and editing of films(family and commercial films). I want to be a 3rd party production and editing house for family and major motion pictures. I was an editor for a production house in the area, but that was almost 18 years ago. I've been away from the industry since, in another field. I want to come back to what I enjoyed doing in the past and start my own editing and authoring business for DVD and HD formats.

I am an Avid Certified User and have recent certifications in Adobe products (Premiere and After Effects) and have experience in professional DVD menu design and layout. I am my own artist. Those college years studying Art went well.

I've set up a small studio in my house, but don't have much equipment yet. Mostly just pro-sumer equipment, which won't cut it in a professional studio environment.

I would like some advice on what is available today in professional editing displays and computer systems. How can I go about opening the business? I'd like to purchase a small office space somewhere to use as a studio. The equipment has to be able to be racked. I want this to look professional, no pro-sumer stuff.

My budget is currently limited to around $11000, for equipment now, but have been talking with a bank about borrowing another $20,000 grand to start the business. What do you advise?
