    Which is Better??

I own a legal copy of AnyDVD & Clone2DVD, but I have heard with RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink you could make a BETTER Quality DVD then with AnyDVD & Clone2DVD...

Please explain how it is better...I noticed with my Spiderman 3 DVD I bought today I wanted to make a backup for myself but I had to Get rid of a TONS of the DVD Functions like Previews and stuff just to make it so my Clone2DVD would have it over 50% Quality...

It seems like I have to get rid of some stuff on a DVD to make it in the YELLOW or Green Bar in Clone2DVD....I always want to Have ALL the Options on a DVD except for the Warnings and stuff that I don't need...

  2. Are you using 4.7 or 8.5GB blanks?
I have NO problems backing up DVD's to double-layer blanks.
If you use 4.7's, then copy just the movie and live with the lower quality.
I don't know of any way around it.

I use AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 exclusively, and I would never use anything else.

If you start using 8.5's, be sure to select the proper media near the bottom on the second screen....

    I hope this helped....

4.7GB Discs Here...I usually try for keeping my movies in the Mid-Yellow or Green Area of Clone2DVD...but I have to cut off some subtitles...what is this mean...

    Audio Channels...
    2 Channels
    6 Channels

Both are check always when I pop in a DVD....I am always wondering which one is better...

2 channels is the stereo track
6 channels is the Dolby Digital / DTS 5.1 surround sound track

If you play the discs back on Home Theater system that supports 5.1 surround sound, keep the 6 channel. Otherwise only use the 2 channel and save space.

    You only need one.

The best quality that I've seen so far is by using DVD2One.

The 5.1 will also work if you just have stereo playback. It's the only one I save when backing up a DVD.

The "2 Channels" track is often an audio commentary. Cutting subtitles won't save much.

Even DVD Shrink has limitations. If you want to avoid cutting so much to get decent quality you would probably be better-off with DVD Rebuilder.

I agree. DVD Rebuilder has some nice options for re-encoding (no transcoding). I would choose to reduce the extras to half-D1, which saves a lot of space that can be dedicated to the main movie. This will result in watchable, low-res, small extras.

Beware, since DVD Rebuilder actually re-encodes your entire DVD, it takes some time.

Yep use dvdrebuilder with hcenc as the encoder and your quality wont suffer. Also you might look into vobblanker before you back up to get rid of stuff you can live without like commercials for other dvd's , etc... I don't want commercials using up the bitrate that could otherwise go to the movie. There have been some dvd's I've had that have had up to 600mb just for commercials!
