if its 7.5 gigs then its not a single layer dvd.. what makes you think it is.. in order to make an exact copy you will need to copy to a DVD DL or shrink it to fit a DVD5. no other choice

EDIT: unless its a HD DVD or BR DVD in which case you can but you're still outa luck because you cant make a DVD from a HD DVD Without compression. they are not the same the resolution and bit rates are different. the file structure is also different as is the Disk it self

It's not a single layer dvd, it's a dual layer dvd. So buy a dual layer dvdr and copy and burn with Imgburn.

How do you check if it's a single layer dvd?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR QUICK ANSWER. I THOUGHT IT WAS A SINGLE LAYER DVD BECAUSE IT HAD A LABEL IN ONE SIDE. BUT AS I UNDERSTAND THIS IS WRONG.AGAIN THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

you can cut in two and make two DVD5s out of one DVD9 if you like but that is a pain.. most of the time if you strip all the extras and sound tracks out you wont have to shrink that much at all. you can get good results if you do a multi pass VBR encode. if the dvd main title is under 2 hours i would give this a shot

Just for the record, don't post in capital letters. It is considered bad forum etiquette, the equivalent of shouting. I think that is what gunslinger was trying to tell you.

I don't assume bad manners when someone post in capital letters.......I just have a hard time reading it!
