I recently downloaded Avitricks but I cannot get video clips to open as it says "movie format unknown". I think I have downloaded the right codec and if I open the film in GSpot it says that I do have the codec on my computer. I use windows XP and the video files end in .avl
Please Help! This is a rather large stumbling block as I haven't managed to even get started yet!

Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Just because you have the correct codecs and can play the files on your pc, doesn't necessarily mean the app supports them. I'm not familiar with that app, but it was last updated in May of 2005. There have been many codec updates since then. I suspect the app is using it own built in codecs and not what is installed on your pc.
