usb connectivity in DVD Rec

Hi
I wanted to know what sort of devices can be used as a usb device on dvd recorder which have usb connection.
devices such as ext hdd, usb flash, mp3 players. and what content can be picked up from the devices.?

It varies by player. It is usually limited to flash drives and/or HDD's. Most players only use them as external storage.

So wich dvd recorder has USB and can support a external HD?
AND can one then copy the recordings to this external HD?

You can browser the DVD Recorders section. Just input USB as an option and you will get a list of all USB capable units. All of the players that I've seen that support USB, can read HDD. I assume since you are wanting to be able to move data to the external USB HDD, then you are also wanting a unit with an internal HDD. Choosing internal HDD will greatly reduce the list.

If you're looking for a recorder in North America (NA) that will output a movie over USB to an external HDD, I think your list will be short... 0!

USB ports on NA recorders are for input only and I don't know of any that recognize external HDDs.

If you can find an older Polaroid 2001G, it lets you install and use external drives if you're handy in that area. AVS forum and some posters there have pics and instructions.

Don't think Hollywood wants you walking around with their movie on a portable HDD or flash drive (even worse).
