    Trendsetters
Using ProShow Producer I have created a HD SlideShow video file. The Attributes are as follows

    HD 1080p 16x9
    1920x1080
    fps 59.94
    Progressive
    Extension is .mpg

    My questions are:
    1) What software to use to create a HD DVD from the mpg file?
    2) Can the HD DVD be created on a normal 4.7gb blank DVD ?
    3) What player do I need to play the DVD? (Eg BlueRay or a player that will upscale to 1080 and if so, which one)?
    4) I assume the TV would be capable of HD with a HDMI input ??

    Thanks for input and ideas.

    2. Yes but it might not work on all hd-dvd players.
    3. Only hd dvd players.

You can also play that file through a good set top media player like my Tvix SH4100. 60 fps for a slideshow is a waist, I would go with 23.97. If you encode it to VC-1 or H.264 and burn it to a data dvd, it might play back on an Xbox 360 or PS3.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

OK thanks for the tips. Going on similar advice, I just purchased a Laser MediaMate, which is similar to what you are suggesting
(I think). I've put a 720 gb Sata drive inside it, and now have to sit on my hands while I read the manual. Link http://laserco.com.au/downloads/manuals/NT-MVL320G_usermanual.pdf
So I hope this will display jpegs in a HD SlideShow format. Let me know what you think.
