I have found that if I try to video capture using my VCR's (or any device) using the RCA imput of my ATI AIW 128 Pro (under Win98) that the preview/captue are blank.

Yet, recording the Audio via the RCA jacks are perfect.

I have been forced to use the RF input/output connectors if I want to capture video.

It is not a problem of the VCR since I have tried other devices and still no video from the RCA imput.

    What can be causing this?

    A hardware problem?

    A Software problem?

Is this even the right forum to ask?

    Any help would be helpful

Your MMC software should have an option to capture from "composite" (RCA), S-Video or the tuner. Your card is so old I can't tell you where in the menus you will find input selection.

The input selector is in the TV application - it's a button that looks like an RCA jack. Mouse over it and it will tell you. Make sure it is set to composite input. You should see the VCR's output in the TV window.

"It is not a problem of the VCR since I have tried other devices and still no video from the RCA imput." - have you tried the composite output of the vcr to another device, like a tv? Have you tried a different cable? Try one of the audio cables that you know work. Look at the pins on the input dongle where it attaches to the video card. Are they straight and clean? Make sure it is plugged in securely. Does the cable look like it is pinched or crimped anywhere?

Otherwise, uninstall and reinstall the TV app from your original CD.

Yes, I know. I had the AIW for over 7 years, so I not only know where it is, but how to use it.

    Yes, no problem

Yes to both, still only audio, no video

Will try that and get back.

Has this problem been going on for 7 years? If so, that's what I call "Hanging In There".

Let me know how you made out.
