  1. OKay, I'm a real newbie to this. I've read this page a few times, but tried doing it today. I DL TMPGEnc and am currently using Nero to burn. I downloaded some music videos in -mpg- format. First I did not know if I was suppose to convert it or not, and if I am suppose to, which am I suppose to choose PAL, NTSC or NTSCFilm. The page says to check FPS (bottom), but I have no idea where to check it. Next when burning with Nero there's an option to choose either NTSC or PAL, and I am very lost in that. I followed the instructions on both the burining and the converting. I tried burning w/o converting and converting it. The only thing I could think of that I was doin wrong is choosing between NTSC and PAL??? Not Sure. I wasted 5 cds and would appreciate any help.

To check what the FPS (frames per second) is open the the AVI/DiVX with Windows Media Encoder and select View->Statistics. If the video is some strange fps as 20fps / 60fps or something try with either PAL or NTSCFilm and see what looks best.

  2. O yeah, btw, I am trying to make it work on the Alpine dva-5205 http://www.alpine1.com/html/D2_n_1_n_n.html It didn't quite work so I thought maybe it wasn't compatible, but then I tried it on the home Sony one, which also didn't work. Afterwards I tried on the dvd-rom of my cpu and no luck.

    Thanks.
