tech challenged

Hi,

I'm new to this stuff. Help is appreciated. I've tried to burn a divx file to vcd with nero. It did the encoding and then I burned it. When I put it in my dvd drive...and got really excited because it started to play...but unfortunately..it kept on playing the same first scene.
Any suggestions? I've tried other programs the forum suggested...with no luck. I know I'm doing something wrong..but like the subject says..I'm challenged in this area.

Now I'm trying the all in one step guide...I saved the wav file and I am now encoding with tempg. I've done this before but with no luck and it takes FOREVER.
