I recently bought a sony dcr-sr82 and i'm trying to convert it's movie format over to avi or some other kind of file that I can import into imovie. I got the video to convert but no sound. Any suggestions on how to do this?

    Thanks for the help

  4. First, read this, the cause of missing audio:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42996
(your Sony is in Apple's list of iMovie supported camcorders)

Try using Streamclip to demux your clips and then import them into iMovie, but I think it will convert directly to DV.

  5. Also, see this article from the SR82 FAQ on the Sony website ...
