ogm's fast forwarding

im trying to play my ogm files, but the video is doing a super fast forward on me. the audio sounds normal, but the video is going super fast. anyone know whats going on? i tried searching for this but cant find any results, not that i even know what im searching for. also is there a simple way to convert these to avi, just keeping the first audio track and the video? something like a drag and drop thing that i can leave on overnight while it does like 95 of them?

You can load your OGMs into MediaInfo or GSpot (I think GSpot supports OGM, but I'm not completely sure... and I don't have an OGM handy with which to test it.) and see which codecs it's using. Do you have something like Haali Media Splitter installed?

Most OGMs, as far as I've seen, are just containers for an Xvid AVI-format video stream (no audio), plus one or more separate audio streams in ogg format and maybe a subtitle stream or two. You can demux an OGM using OGM Demuxer (a command-line/console utility, but you can create a shortcut to it on your desktop and drag OGM files onto it; it'll extract everything to the same directory as the OGM), which will give you the above files.

Or, you can load it into VirtualDubMod and try saving it as an AVI, with Direct Stream Copy enabled. I'm not sure if it'll allow a simple remuxing, though (I haven't tried, and I'd have to have an OGM around to try it at the moment. :/ Plus, it would probably be better if the ogg audio streams were converted to mp3, anyway.)

There are also a number of converters, such as the ones you'll find in VideoHelp's Tools section - but many of those will likely re-encode the video while converting, resulting in some quality loss.

lol nevermind, i found the answer to the 2nd question - i tried playing around with super converter, setting the video to direct stream copy and custom audio settings, turned out just the way i like it! and since i found the answer to that, i wont be keeping the original ogm files, so that eliminates the 1st question. thanks though.
