Hey guys heres what I have. I have 2 movies one is 699 MB and the other is 700 MB
I put them into ConvertX together and it made the Audio/Video_TS folders like it should thats all good.
Then I made an iso using ImgBurn and it turned out to be 4.29 GB which is alittle to big to fit onto a DVD disk
so I put the iso into DVD Shrink and it still came out to be 4.29 GB (it didn't shrink anything) so I burned it on the disk anyway using ConvertX. I didn't miss any of the film but towards the end it did jump and mess up really bad for about 45 sec but then resumed playing as normal.

    Ok heres the questions

1id it jump because it was running out of room or do you think it was a glitch in the burning process ??
2:Is there a way to make the file smaller then 4.29 MB so that it will fit to DVD disk (DVD Shrink didn't work)
3:Or should I just make 2 different disks one with each file on 700 MB disks (I'm trying to avoid this option. I hate getting up in the middle of a film to change disk lol)

Thanx for any suggestions you may have.

4.29GB is small enough to fit on a DVD-5 if that's the actual size of the VIDEO_TS folder. A DVD-5 holds about 4.37GB. I suspect your DVD media may be causing the breakup problem. I would try playing back the VIDEO_TS folder if you still have it on your hard drive. VLC media player can play a complete DVD folder, even in a ISO container. That may tell you if it's the file or the media at fault.

Inexpensive DVD media can commonly have problems towards to outer part of the disc. Usually reducing the size of the folder is one way to get around that, but using a better brand of DVD blanks would be the best cure.

And with ImgBurn, you don't have to use a ISO. It will burn a VIDEO_TS folder directly to DVD media by using the 'Build' mode.

DVD Shrink can reduce the size most times. It depends on what size it's set for. But transcoding may cause some quality loss, so I would avoid it if possible. ConvertX should also be able to be set to make a smaller folder. If you reduce the size of the folder when ConvertX creates it by about 200MB, you won't have much quality loss and it should work with most media. But I would be shopping for a better brand of DVD disc, it the disc quality is the problem.

If you converted from the average Xvid or Divx 700MB files off the net, you shouldn't notice much of any quality losses anyhow, even with a slightly reduced folder size. I wouldn't bother using two DVDs most times.

Of course another option that may be brought up is to get a settop Divx player and avoid all this. You could then just join the two parts together and burn to a data DVD as a 1400MB file.
