  1. I have recieved the following file from a reliable source:

    birthday-retirement pics 2007 Picture 012.jpg [90_97].dat

    I am unable to open this file. It is a DAT (?) of a jpeg file. Can anyone help me with a conversion program so I may open this file? It is from my aunt's retirement and I would appreciate any and all help.

    I guess you have just tried renamed it to jpg and opened it?

    Assuming it is an actual .dat file, you would need to know the file that was used to create it.

    might be vcd svcd. try vcdgear to convert dat to what ever.

    Some versions of Novell mail clients use that as some sort of funky compression. Try opening the DAT file in winzip.
