After coming to a conclusion that Pinnacle Studio 10 is not an optimal software for me to edit videos of my small nephew, I gave up trying for more than half a year. The resulting project is about 95 minutes DVD with complete menus, everything done. The problem with the program is that it won't create a DVD, everything tried, really a lot of free space for it to render, etc. Always stopped somewhere at 30 minutes or so of the film. Apparently, this project is too big for it?

My question is, how can I import this project into any other editing software? - I only need to actually make a DVD out of it, that's all. Without using Pinnacle again... (On the Pinnacle forum, they advised me to start over as I made some lot of mistakes, but it doesn't seem a good solution to me...)

My sister-in-law really wants to see those videos, but the only way of showing them at the moment is by starting Pinnacle on my computer

    Thanks in advance!

Export the video and author in something else. You cannot import your project into another authoring tool.

Exporting the video failed so many times if I understand correctly what you mean... Or you suggest starting a very new project in another tool?

If it won't even export the video then you are pretty much screwed and will have to start again. If you have made lots of mistakes - and god only knows what they might be - then you may also have your answer. Either way, it looks like you will be starting again.

I strongly suggest you look at either VideoStudio, Vegas Movie Studio, or Premiere Elements and alternatives.

Maybe I don't understand you right with exporting video...? (I surely want to also export the sounds and transitions)
My mistakes were, as pointed out by Dutch Pinnacle discussion forum, updating to 10.7 while busy with the project, and messing around with gaps.

You should be able to export just the edited video, with sound and transitions. Export it to DV avi. After than you can convert it and author a DVD using better tools.

I see. Thanks for the tip. Exporting probably also involves a lot of free disk space needed? (This also seemed to be the problem with creating a DVD)

DV avi requires around 13 GB per hour, so you will need around 20 GB or so free. DVD creation usually requires around 10 GBs, with around half going to temporary files, and the rest tot he finished DVD.

Thank you for your advice. It seemed to work so far. At the moment I am copying a 21 GB .avi file to another computer to author it. Hope it will work too. Hope I will be able to extract audio from this resulting movie as it turned out way too loud and not synchronized.
P.S. Suppose I can delete the temp files in render folder already? (around 5 GB)
