I've been using TMPEGENc for over a year. Got the latest version recently. Last night after rendering a couple of svcds, I had to reinstall Win2K Pro for an audio problem (SBLive 5.1 - always a problem - still isn't fixed). Today when I went to cut some videos, when I hit the edit key or double clicked on the file, I got a flash of the preview window, and only got the the merge window - the end markers were "grayed", slide bar all the way to the right, no preview in the window. I uninstalled (if you can call it that), and cleaned all entries/files that I could find. The I reinstalled the program; still had the same problem - merge window only. Tried it several times with 12a/2.0/2.5. Did I leave a small file somewhere that could be causing the problem? Also reinstalled Divx412codec and Tsunami_Divx_Filter_Pack, no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

  2. Yeah it looks weird tho it isn't really a problem. I was baffled when I wanted to cut my movie but the window said "merge". This is probably just a bug in the program, you are actually in the "cut" window eventho it says merge. Just set your start and end frame and hit the ok button and tempgenc will export the selected part. It looks weird but it does work :)

    Snakedriver,
You said in your post "Last night after rendering a couple of svcds, I had to reinstall Win2K Pro for an audio problem".

Did you reinstall the MPEG2 plug-in for TMPGenc after re-installing Win2K?

It's just a thought, I might be going up the wrong track.

    Good luck,

  4. TMPGenc freeware ?

Hi the copy that I got is telling me
"You can use MPEG-2 function as trial for more 25 days."

It started out at 30 days. MPEG-1 doesn't show this.

    Version: 2.02.31.119
    Core version 1.80.116

    Anyone else seeing this?

    UpDate:

Just found this at TMPGenc's site in the FAQ's

While trying to encode avi to mpeg-2 i receve the message:
    MPEG-2 trial period has required
What is the reason for this message and what is to do?

I'm getting it too. And going to that site, I see no downloads for MPEG2, and you can't purchase it.

Actually, I had problems getting the MPEG2 files from it to be recognized by NERO anyway. (I used it direct from Premier in order to skip the large AVI files, but as Nero wouldn't work with them, I gave up. Must have been doing something wrong, and oddly enough, couldn't get help on this forum). But, I am now trying to get TSCV working. It won't work with MPEG2 files from Nero. Boy, getting this stuff to all work is a real pain.

Hopefully someone will have some ideas on TMPGenc.

Have to give it a try. Although, the post says it just gives you another 30 days. I wonder what we do then.

  7. Hi
Read it a little closer, you can either delet the said key once a month
or do the batch command (i did and it works great) ('')

Perhaps, they'll add a sale page. If there is one a pro or what ever for sale,
I can't find it at their site ('')

Oh boy...upon reading it, I found it is a different one from what I had read. I must have referred back to one I had found just a little earlier, which only gave the registry entry, without the description of using it, and re-running, etc. I must not have clicked on the link, and assumed it was the one I had read earlier. I just learned to read further!

    This worked! Thanks a lot.

  10. I just had the same exact problem.... Here is my solution....
The problem you are having is a codec problem. Do the following.

    1. download and install a divx 3.11 codec (available on this site)
    2. reinstall your divx 4 codec
    3. when reinstalling the divx 4 codec it gives you the option to have divx 4 run divx 3.11 material .... choose NO
    4. That should be it.... it worked for me

    Good Luck

    Update-
Tried uninstalling all codecs and re-installing. Nothing...Tried to cut with the merge window, but the end markers are "grayed"out. Guess I'll stick with BBMPEG for cutting. I'm installing a new motherboard and cpu this week...I'll formt all the hds and reinstall everything clean. We'll see if it works. By the way, thanks for everyones input!
