    Once I saw that the DNS server was resolving the address I assumed it must be a problem at the far end. I have to admit that it never occurred to me that your ISP would deliberately keep you from accessing certain sites. Like thecoalman says, smacks of Big Brother.

    This story has a moral.

    When you know a site is up and you can't reach it - call your ISP. Give them the tracert results and ask if they are responsible for your problem. Sometimes its blocking but other times it can be a routing error.

    Far too many people give the vendors they deal with a free ride on support issues. Instead of putzing around for two days posting here, Verizon could have had him up and running.
