I have problems playing H.264 video files with ffdshow. The 1080p trailers from Apple.com play fine with CoreAVC but are somewhat choppy with ffdshow, enough to be noticed. ffdshow provides good quality, but the high CPU usage with this type of video is my one complaint with it. I've also tried the SSE build but the same problem occurs. The computer details button is right above the text of my post so maybe you can tell me if this computer isn't fast enough?

That's because CoreAVC is still the best h264 decoder. FFdshow is great at most decoding tasks, but it isn't as fast as CoreAVC. However, CoreAVC isn't free. Still, a great deal for $15. And the pro versions are supposed to take advantage of multicore systems, at least it's promised in the new release.
