Did you use the AVStoDVD package with the installer, or the portable version ?I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me. I'm using AVStoDVD 2.8.9 on a Windows 11 PC. I've used it many times without problems, but for this particular project it's come up with two error messages, which it repeats when I open the project file: firstly "Error 380 / Invalid property value", and once I've then pressed OK, "Warning! Failed to initialize Project and compute output DVD size! Verify source file and/or check project settings." It lets me edit the project normally, but when I press "Start" it aborts immediately: the log file simply says, "WARNING! Process aborted during 'Building MsgBox to check settings before start encoding' Section."
What's really strange is that I actually created this project a second time (same source files, same menu, same settings, same everything) on my son's PC, which is newer than mine, in order to see how much faster it might be to author DVDs on his machine instead. His PC gave exactly the same errors while I was creating / editing the project, but when I pressed "Start" it didn't abort, it completed the entire process (though I haven't yet tried burning the DVD folders to a DVD). I'm very puzzled - perhaps the error messages are caused by some issue with the source files, but why on earth does one PC then let me complete the authoring while the other doesn't?!? AVStoDVD is newly installed on his machine, so again version 2.8.9.
Thank you, somebody, in advance!

Pretty sure he was using a package with an installer rather than a portable version. I told him what software to download and install, didn't watch all that closely!
Oh and I'm sure I would have used the installer when I installed my version a few months ago. If it's important to know, I can presumably look at the program files and find out somehow? -
Yes, I can confirm the versions we used on both computers were installer versions (listed in Programs & Features / resident in Program Files (X86)).

I got this information from Googling:
The error "Error 380 / Invalid property value" in AVStoDVD indicates that
a value assigned to a specific property is outside its permissible range or is in an incorrect format. This is a common runtime error in software that relies on libraries or components like VBA (Visual Basic for Applications).
Incorrect Value Assigned: The software attempts to assign a value to a property that is outside its accepted range. For instance, if a property expects an integer between 0 and 100, and a value of 150 is provided, the error will occur.
Corrupted/Outdated Components: Issues with underlying software components, such as runtime libraries (like VB6 runtime libraries) or even certain system fonts, can also lead to this error.
Corrupted Configuration/Data: Corrupted project settings or data related to AVStoDVD might also contribute.
Check for Font Issues: A corrupted system font, such as Arial, can cause this type of error. Consider checking your system fonts and potentially replacing or repairing them.
Will it play & or open in other software ?
OR
Some setting you have made For example in AviSynth settings.
To be done to the source file.
Just make the settings you want it Preferences & restart AVStoDVD.
Then open the file or files (Source).
Then select the view/edit title settings button on the right side & make the settings you want.
Do not "Save Project" just start.
See if this works for you. -
Try reloading the VB common controls; it's supposed to install it during the setup, but something may have gone wrong.
Extract these two files, right click the batch file and select "run as adminstrator"
