SONY Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0

Hi!

I just got "SONY Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0" but I have a problem. It says it supports mpeg1 and mpeg2 but every time I try to add mpeg it says it is unsupported. Any idea? What can I do?

Are you sure it's an mpeg file ? File extensions are pretty arbitrary. Open the file in g-spot and see what it really is.

Does it support mpeg for editing, or just for output ? Even Vegas' mpeg editing isn't the best.

Thanks for answering. When I right click on the file and click on Propeties it says it is mpeg. could that be wrong? I am actually new at video editing software, so I would also like to know what software you recommend for PC. I know imovie is really good on Mac, is there anything like that or better for pc? My handy cam audio is Dolby, so I have some problems when I try to use some software that doesn't support or doesn't have the rights to use dolby.

I checked with GSpot and it is Mpeg-2 file. What could be wrong? it doesn't want to open on Sonny vegas, it says the file format is unsupported, but it is suppoused to work with mpeg files.

sounds like you have the "demo" version.
