  1. Hi!

I just got "SONY Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0" but I have a problem. It says it supports mpeg1 and mpeg2 but every time I try to add mpeg it says it is unsupported. Any idea? What can I do?

    Thanks!

Are you sure it's an mpeg file ? File extensions are pretty arbitrary. Open the file in g-spot and see what it really is.

Does it support mpeg for editing, or just for output ? Even Vegas' mpeg editing isn't the best.

  3. Thanks for answering. When I right click on the file and click on Propeties it says it is mpeg. could that be wrong? I am actually new at video editing software, so I would also like to know what software you recommend for PC. I know imovie is really good on Mac, is there anything like that or better for pc? My handy cam audio is Dolby, so I have some problems when I try to use some software that doesn't support or doesn't have the rights to use dolby.
    Thanks!

  4. I checked with GSpot and it is Mpeg-2 file. What could be wrong? it doesn't want to open on Sonny vegas, it says the file format is unsupported, but it is suppoused to work with mpeg files.
