I hope someone can help with this problem; I'm close to tearing my hair out.

I've been using AutoGK for a few weeks and am reasonably happy with the results, but I thought I would also give avi.NET a try since it is highly recommended both here and elsewhere.

I've got .NET 1.x and .NET 2.x with all of the current Windows Updates, and have downloaded and installed both the latest avi.NET (2.5.6.0) and the support files.

When I try to generate an AVI, using either DivX or XviD, avi.NET gets as far as converting the audio to MP3 then stops with the following sequential error dialogs when it tries to convert the video:

I've tried everything I can think of to eliminate this error, including uninstalling and reinstalling everything into the default installation folders (I normally like to keep programs out of the Program Files hierarchy) but nothing has helped so far.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I appreciate it's not much to go on, but it's the only feedback the program gives

For anyone curious (I can't believe there are only two people on the whole of the internet who've seen this particular conflict) I've dug a little deeper and tracked the problem down to a component of the Outpost firewall.

There's no solution as of yet, other than turning off the firewall , but I thought I'd link to it just in case someone else is suffering and stumbles upon this thread during their search for answers.
