    for those who have this or had it, is it a good player/recorder? does it play DTS movies? any comments appreciated. thanks

    Assuming you meant the Toshiba DR400 DVD Recorder, it's lack of any optical output (coaxial or optical) would lead me to believe that it doesn't support DD5.1 or DTS (it only has stereo L/R RCA audio outputs).

    The Toshiba D-R400 has a Digital Coax Out and does do DTS output and Dolby Digital 5.1. Just got one today. Link is correct in the above post but you must go to the detailed specs tab to see the Coaxial Outputs (1).
