Guys am in a fix! I use a premier 6.5 with a DV 500 DVD PCI card, recently it became difficult to output video via the break out box (composite plugs), i even tried using the s/video and still no video output but there is sound in both cases. i have changed cables, checked the appropriate output settings, done system diagnostict test, finally reformated the hard disk and did fresh installation still it didnt change. Although the program runs smoothly, it still cant output video.the problem here is just outputing video to a monitor(TV), capture works ok. Could this mean either the board has developed a fault or the breakbox is faulty?

Maybe a overlay problem? Try lowering your hardware acceleration to about 1/3 in your video card settings, Troubleshoot. If that helps, then you may need to adjust your overlay settings.

    And welcome to our forums.

    For nVidia/GeForce users:
Right click your desktop, click Properties, Click Settings tab, Click Advanced, Click GeForce tab.

If you now have choice between "Classic NVIDIA Control Panel" and "New NVIDIA Control Panel" then chosse Classic.

In the menu to the left, click on the + next to your video card (usually at the top).
    Click on "nView Display Settings".
Under "nView Display Mode", click on Clone. make sure that your TV is next to "Secondary display".

Now go back to the menu and click on "Full Screen Video".
Under "Full screen device" select "Secondary display".

Now you video should play automatically in full screen on your TV while you can do other things on your monitor.
This works in Windows Media Player and VLC media player (and probably other players). I recommend VLC media player for playing mpg movies.
