    Hi,

I have an issue with my LG LRA-750 DVD recorder where if I burn more than 2 .avi or .divx files to a DVD (happens with CDs too) and then try to play the disc in my recorder it will not play either file. When I click play on a particular file, the screen goes black as if it is about to play the movie and then I get an incorrect format error and then after a few seconds, it boots me back to the main screen where I can see all the files on the disc displayed. If I burn each file to a disc on its own, it will play without any difficulty. The manual says the disc can be read with up to 1999 files on it without difficulty, obviously that is wrong. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for this?

    TIA!

Have you specifically tried burning and playing .divx files? Most players don't support the new .divx format. They can often play the files themselves, they just don't recognize the .divx extension.

Actually I just figured it out. I used the new Divx converter for mac to convert my avi files to .divx files using the "home theater" setting and then burnt the disc and it worked fine. So I think the problem is that if the disc contains even 1 unreadable file on it, then my DVD player does not read anything on the disc. I think the Divx converter for mac is my new best friend lol. Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
