  1. Hi,
I would like to know how to make a SVCD with 2 audio tracks and a menu where I can select the language I want ?

  2. I believe you'd need I-Author for that. It's no longer sold. That makes me wonder why it's not posted anywhere for download.

  3. As far as the 2 audio tracks go...you could combine the two tracks into one. You can load the two tracks into a program like Acid and combine the two and spit out one audio track. Then encode and mulitplex with the video.

  5. Hi!
Sorry to say this but I think you're leading Spax in the wrong direction guys!

If you want to put 2 stereo audio tracks on a SVCD all you have to do is :

    1) compress your video and audio separately. This will leave you with one video (.m2v or similar) and 2 audio (.mp2 or .mpa)
    2) Multiplex all three files in bbMPEG and you'll end up with an MPEG2 system stream that you can burn and which will allow you to switch between audio tracks.

I've used this technique on a few DVD rips to have both the main sound and also the commentary audio - works a treat!
One thing to note though is that, with 2 audio tracks, the file size will be a bit bigger than with 1 - sounds obvious I know but I just thought I'd mention it!!

    Easy,

  8. Here we go again .... !!!!

Let me clarify a little .......
There are TWO STEREO tracks allowed by the SVCD standard thereby giving you a Left 1 & Right 1 AND Left 2 & Right 2 - OK?

Therefore, once you've correctly muxed the 1 video and 2 stereo audio files together and burnt the resulting MPEG2 system stream, you'll should be able to choose between the TWO STEREO audio tracks on your player.

On my DV-444, pressing the AUDIO button on the remote allows me to toggle through these stages :
    STEREO 1
    Left 1
    Right 1
    STEREO 2
    Left 2
    Right 2

Which player have you got Spax, maybe we could help.

    Speak soon,

    Sue xxx
