    Here is the Vegas help file overview description.



    In the case of Cineform HD, you just edit the intermediate and export. There is no need to replace the originals.

  2. I was talking about the fact that I'll be editing off of one independent drive.

    One drive for any type of video editing is not realistic.
    HDV only needs 25Mb/s which is easy for one drive.
    This is what's confusing me. HDV editing with one drive is not realistic but then again HDV is easy for one drive? I'm either not understanding this correctly or I'm just missing something here.

    Drive one is for the Windows OS and Applications. The second drive has priority for video capture and edit application use for tmp files. Is that clear?

    Forget uncompressed. Transfer in HDV format. Edit first in HDV format. Then if you want to, experiment with a digital intermediate.
