making cd coasters

I'm finally able to make an mpeg 1 from an avi using tmpgenc through this forums guide when I try to burn it to a cd using nere 5.5 it gives no messages (finally) when its done with the burn process I put it in my dvd
player and it tells me no disc and I tell my dvd player this (@#$^%$#%$)
im using nero 5.5 tmpegenc 2.02 the dvd player is sony ns300 and the regional is ntsc any help is greatly apreciated

The cd you are making may not be a coaster. If you followed the instructions on this site. The no disc that your dvd player says means it can't read the disc. I would try copying your cdr to a cdrw not all dvd players can read cdr discs. Sony brand dvd players can be fussy reading cd's. Check this site to the left under dvd compatibility to see what your dvd player is capable of playing. If it is supposed to read cdr try an audio cdr disc if this works then it's possible it doesn't like the brand of cdr you used for the vcd try a different brand of cdr. I had a Sony 560 model and it wouldn't read cdr, it would however read cdrw but was still really fussy. Sometimes the vcd that I burned to cdrw would work sometimes the same cdrw wouldn't. I finally got sick of messing with my dvd player and went out and bought a cheap APEX DVD player it plays cdr,cdrw,vcd,svcd,mp3 discs I haven't had any problems. Sony DVD players play DVD discs well but can be really frustrating trying to get a vcd/svcd to play in them unfortunately. They say they will play them but they mean the stamped out kind of vcds with the silver backs not the burned vcd's.

It probably doesn't like your disk medium, as mentioned above. Also, I've read that Nero will intentionally (and silently) make coasters if you're using a serial number that's been published. It'll work on one version but not on the next upgrade.
