    I am looking for an easy mpeg 1/2 cutter that can extract parts of a video without conversion sort of like Virtualdub can do with AVI files when you set it on "Direct Stream Copy". I tried Avidemux and ended up with an mpg file output that could play in VLC and DGDecode but was not recognized by Virtualdub-MPEG2 while PowerDVD played only the audio.

    MPEG-VCR,(www.womble.com) not free but very simple and stable, well worth the money if you use it regularly. dvbcut (free) may be worth a look as well.
