    OK...I have some .avi files.

    I have downloaded Divx4.12 and installed it.

    I am in windows NT 4.0

    I opened windows media player ---> find myfile.avi ----> it won't open (format not supported).


    What did I do wrong??

    You most likely have the wrong codec.... I'm not sure about DivX, but maybe they are not compatible, although unlikely.
