    hey is there a way to deleat the audio of a clip without touching the video?

    Highlight audio track in timeline and hit DELETE........SIMPLE

    Some versions of Vegas automatically group audio and video so deleting one will always delete the other. You un- group them by highlighting both and hitting Ctrl+U. Then they can be manipulated separately.
