What is the audio codec in the wmv? standard wma? I think you can identify the audio codec in wmv with mediainfo.

You can try convert with another ffmpeg gui like super and see if you get any audio. ffmpeg should support most wmv audio formats but there are several different versions of ffmpeg out.

  5. I have a similar problem, except that the input is a DVD. The original DVD structure includes a separate AUDIO-TS folder which, however, is empty... WinFF produced what appeared to be a valid .mv4 file, but there's no audio. Am wondering as a result of the existence of that AUDIO-TS, if there's something about the DVD file structure which interferes with FFMPEG being able to process the audio stream. SUPER errored out (finding it a very unreliable tool generally...)

No, the audio-ts folder is not used in a dvd-video. The audio is inside the video_ts/*.vob files.

But winff doesn't handle dvd sources perfect. Why not use something else like handbrake instead.

  7. I'll try it. ('Seems like I've tried so many.... SUPER, Avanti, WinFF, DVDFAB8, and now Handbrake)

  8. (Update) 'Seems like the problem was actually with my selections in DVD Decryptor... I somehow had the impression that I only need to (i.e., should) select the video title (and nothing else, that is, and NOT select any of the audio streams). Apparently, one needs to select at least one of the audio streams as well, or perhaps more accurately at least the (0x80) stream. I'm still on the learning curve here.
