    Hi everybody

I apologize for my poor English I'm French ... and not a specialist in DVD authoring.
I already used GFD to author my own DVD's from various video captures, and recently I discovered DVD Slideshow GUI.

Here is what I try to do:

Import a series of 50 digitalized slides (*.jpg) in DVD Slideshow
Build my project with transitions and music
    Export as gfd file
    Everything is ok so far.

Then I open the slideshow.gfd file in GFD (version 1.04) and build the DVD; I get no error message but the final behaviour is not good:

When I select the "Album" menu and try to jump to any item above the 16th, what appears is NOT what I want (either on my PC or with my player).

I have tested manual menu creation in GFD:
Load m2V, AC3 and chapter list
    Generate thumbnails with Chapedit
Insert thumbnails and buttons in the titleset1menu
I get an error message if I try to insert more than 17 items : "Only 18 buttons 'and/or videos) possible!" (the 18th item is the default back button)

I think the 2 problems are linked ...

I could not find the answer in a previous topic, sorry if i missed something.

    Can you please help ?

Thanks for these 2 nice pieces of software.

There is a limit of (I may be wrong, but I'll be close) 18 buttons on a 16:9 menu, and 32 on a 4:3 menu. This is a DVD specification restriction. Some authoring tools may enforce lower restrictions for design reasons.

  4. It is even more complicated...
For 4:3 menus always 36 buttons is the maximum.
For 16:9 menus with either letterboxed or pan&scan you have 18 buttons maximum and for 16:9 menus with both letterboxed and pan&scan you have 12 buttons maximum.
