Hi, I have burnt a dual layer image to a DL disk using imgburn on my laptop. Laptop dvd burner shows no contents and 0 disk space availible. Yet I put that same disk in my desktop and the disk works no problem. The img file is also for a data disk. Any Ideas why this is occuring?

Probably nothing to do with ImgBurn. Does it play properly on a set top player? That's the real test. If so, do you really care if the laptop won't play it?

It's not uncommon that a burner won't play the DVD it just created. I don't know all the reasons. But if you do a forum search for that subject, you will see quite a few posts.

And I have to ask, 'What DL media did you use?' So far, only Verbatim + DL has shown any consistency for DL burning.

I would also wonder how you created the image to burn. ImgBurn doesn't need a image for a DVD burn. The problem with images is they give the 'orders' to the burner for how to burn the disc. If those are incorrect, you may have problems.

Just a few things to consider.

thanks for the input. I was using fugifilm DL disks. Now I know to stay with Verbatim. Like I said it was a data disk..back up files..as long as one of my pcs reads the disk I'm happy Just thought it was odd the burner that burnt the disk could not read it.

Once you hard reboot, it should read the disc.
