  1. I have just got some MP4 files, well the files will play fine, but there is one major problem. No matter what player I play them in, I cannot fast-forward or rewind or do anything, the video will just stop and I will have to restart the video. I have tried to download additional codecs and everything. So if someone can please point me into the right direction on how to be able to FF and RW these files it will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

Edit: I am playing these on my PC with Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic, with the same results. And by FF and Rewind I am talking about the seeking feature, where you just move the timer along the timeline (jumping to minute 15 etc)

    Please help me.

It is likely a result of how the files were encoded. You can have the same issue with wmv and avi files as a result of a corrupt or empty file index. I suspect the same is possible with mp4. Sometimes opening and resaving the save with a tool with support for file type in question will create the index and solve the problem. If not, reencoding or conversion will be necessary.
