I have some clips (TV Spots) that were supplied by an editor to me as Quicktime Mov in Avid Meridien Uncompressed. (720 x 486) I had to get a Codec to view the movies in Quicktime Pro, which I have done. (Before I did, I had sound but no video.) Now I want to do a simple editing job in iMovie on a Mac Powerbook G4, but iMovie doesn't recognize the Meridien mov format. I see that I can export the movie in Quicktime, but don't know which format to choose without losing quality. Other movies I have gotten from other editors are in Animation uncompressed, and that works in iMovie. But when I convert the Meridien mov to Animation, the file size jump from 560 MB to over a gig. The other Animation Movs I have are also only about 560 MB so it seems strange that it would jump so high. Any suggestions on how, or if I can convert these, or does the editor have to go back onto my digibeta and somehow supply me with Animation versions. I'm trying to save the editor time and cut my own reel, but am painfully new to this. If I had the correct format, I think I could do it. Thanks
