Hey all,
I'm shooting on a rented Sony TRV950. The manual says to use a program called Pixela to get the footage off the tapes and into my computer. Is there any other program or another way to do this? I'm using Windows XP and would like to dump the digital files on to a DVD or CD for editing without buying expensive software. Thanks for any
help!

download winDV a free and very good program. use a firewire cable to connect the cam and computer. set winDV to record type II avi. allow 13GB of harddrive space per tape as that's what's needed, they won't fit on dvd or cd in their native avi format.
