Can you read DVD's from DVR's on the computer?

I had a LG LRH 780 for a while now, and recorded a few DVD's for keeps.

Being the lazy person that I am, I didn't want to power up the player, and decided to try it on the computer.

Nothing showed up, is this normal? Can you watch DVR DVD's on the computer?

Did you finalize the discs? Yes, you can play them on a PC, but they need to be finalized first.
