    hi,

i'm getting a new laptop soon. I want to be able to customise my own laptop. The dell website is really good but the prices are a bit too high. Does anyone know a good website for customising laptops that isn't to expensive. Preferabely an Australian site. it dosen't matter if it isn't though.

My Dell Vostro 1000, a Nice basic model, only cost me $480($450 if i hadn't added on DVD burner). I recommend it, and don't think you'll find much cheaper at new prices.

-i need at least 160GB Hard Drive.
-at least 2GB of ram (preferabely 3GB)
-Core 2 Duo processor (at least 1.8GHz)
-very very high quality screen as i will be watching movies on it alot when travelling.
    -Good Design.
    -WiFi.
    -Blutooth.

I can get this for around $2,000 on the dell web site when i customise a Dell Inspiron 1520 and 1420. I would like to get it cheaper though.

    Any Suggestions????

  5. $2000 seems costly for your specs, depending on the exchange rate. I am in Canada and the $ is currently at par with the USD. I was just looking at a Vostro 1500 on the Dell Canada site and it prices out at $1229 ($100 less if you could go with a 1280x800 screen).
