I frequently make copies of DVDs, which I have to return the next day, so I can watch them without time pressure, as I am hard of hearing and I have to repeat segments frequently to follow the story. I have used DVD-RWs for that purpose and erase them when finished.

Recently I had DVDs which had multilingual subtitles, these were contained in a separate folder on the DVD. So looking into the DVD there would be a data folder plus VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. It is possible to drag-and-drop the data folder manually with NERO but that does not always work.

So I downloaded DVDFAB, which required only an additional mouse click to copy the data folder as well.

During installation of DVDFAB the installer window warned me that ANYDVD was currently active. So I closed down ANYDVD and continued installation of DVDFAB.

DVDFAB worked exactly as advertised! But suddenly I could not play back the just burned RW.
All RW discs cannot now be opened on the PC. Error messages like: "L:\ is not available. Incorrect Function" or "No disc in drive" or "Is disc formatted?" and even: "Is disc formatted on a different operating system?"

I uninstalled ANYDVD as well as DVDFAB and reinstalled DVDFAB only, but no joy. I found out, that occasionally the RW would be fully recorded, they worked OK on a standalone DVD player. Also the RW discs recorded and played back OK on an LG DVD recorder.

I have done so many tests and comparisons, I can't think of anything else. Unless marking RWs as unformatted is a 'new feature', required from record and movie companies??!!??

Making copies of disks you don't own=warez according to site rules.
Eiher buy them, or rent/borrow them for a longer period.
