I'm a film/tv actor. Actors need demos of their work--selected scenes of their performances from movies, tv shows, commercials, etc., edited together and usually placed on their websites for casting directors to view. I don't need to backup entire DVDs of these movies, just my scenes. I don't know enough about the different video formats to know which ones load quickly on the web at the highest possible quality.

Can anyone outline a simple procedure (for either PC or MAC) for doing this, as well as the apps necessary? Or a guide that is already posted on VideoHelp? Ideally, I'd end up with files that I could edit in Windows (Vista) Movie Maker or Mac's iMovie, then upload to my website as a single demo file (approx. 10 minutes).

Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Joescoe

Open with DVDShrink in re-author mode, use the Set start/End Frames feature, and save each clip. Then use shrink again in re-author mode and make a compilation disc, you should not lose quality as you're only saving small clips/no compression...After that Use AutoGk , Super or ,FairUseW, to convert to DVD to Xvid/divx avi...... others will post soon enough with more help....good luck!..

Thank you. This sounds far simpler than the line-up of procedures and apps I've been attempting.

And if you are willing to pay for software you can easily use tmpgenc xpress to open dvds directly and do some basic cutting and save as mpg, avi, wmv etc.
