Been tasked with making a 2hr clip featuring famous movie scenes/quotes.
Source material will be from DVDs and was hoping for some suggestions of which apps will make this the least painful.
Current thinking is to extract desired scenes as avi, edit and encode/author to DVD but that may be very time consuming.

    Any other ideas ?
    Thanks

    Use a mpeg2 editor,
tmpgenc dvd author, add dvd video, cut, burn, author.
videoredo, edit, save as as mpg and author with your dvd authoring tool.
dvd shrink (free) in the reauthoring mode to cut out what you want.

    How so ?

VideoRedo seems the simplest and I think my process will be as follows.
Find basic cut points, extract as mpeg, repeat for each DVD, load all mpgs into video editor and fine tune the cuts and transitions and then output mpeg for authoring.
